JV Royals Finish in 2nd Place

ACTION!  That's the only word that could describe the JV Girls District Final at AJSH Thursday.  The Royals and Crusaders jockeyed for the the lead throughout the first three quarters, until the AJSH squad started to build a lead.  However, led by Olivia Lay and Gaby Lapointe, the Royals played right until the final seconds, creating turnovers and chances.  Alas, the shooting was off and the Royals fell 50-41.  This great game was followed by the boys final.  The Royals took the lead at the end of the first quarter, playing a chess match style against the skilled AJSH team.  By the second half of the second quarter however, the Crusaders started to build a lead that they did not relinquish.  The Royals were defeated 80-42.  For fans, the athletic prowess of all teams is a testament to the coaches and players -- their commitment to the great game of basketball!  Until next season!
